In late August, I visited the folks at Two Bear Farm in the Stillwater Valley in Northwestern Montana. The sense of shifting seasons was palpable. The first frost had descended that week. I love chilly mountain mornings; it's invigorating. Cold toes, warm heart, can't lose.

Their peak season was winding down, with lots of root veggies, winter squash, and onions & garlic being harvested.
